I remember the day you came to Macbeth Street to say good bye when you were starting your career. How many milles you have traveled together since then. I'm sure there were down times as wel as the good ones, but you have both weathered them both. This is a terrific milestone and I hope you see many more. Congratulations.Bev
Congratulations to the two of you. What a long and exciting married life you have had. You added up many miles over the years and landed in Florida. Enjoy your party and enjoy having your family all together. Love, Mary Jane
Congratulation to you two. I can remember Uncle John coming into our house on Drumlin Drive in Macedon when you were all home and the kids were young. Uncle John walked into the kitchen over to the refrigerator I believe it was a weird color green and wrote on the top of it dust me please I don't remember if he signed it or not. I hope Ray and I have a long marriage as you two do. Have fun at your p-arty adn God bles you both. Love Carol Ann
Congratulations Barbara and John
May the sun always shine on your windowpane.May the rainbow be certain to follow each rain.May the hand of a friend always be near you.May God fell your hearts with gladness to cheer you.
Happy anniversary Love you Lee and Bill
Congratulations John and Barb on your 50th wedding anniversary. Wow - you must really be old!!! The last 50 went by fast didn't it. Somehow, we've got to find a way to slow this process down. I can't recall what happened yesterday, but your wedding ceremony is still vivid in my mind. Sometimes the vivid memories are events I'd rather forget. For example, I still recall John and I getting caught hiding in this girls closet by her parents (Don't worry Barb - this was long before you came along).
Here's hoping you have many more years together!!!
Your younger friend (OK OK I know I'm exactly one year younger than John)and Best Man...
Tom Crowley
Congratulations on your 50th Wedding Anniversary! We wish you many more years of happiness together!
Always, Ronnie and Carol DeRoche
Congratulations Aunt Barbara and Uncle John on your 50th Anniversary!!! I will never forget the time Uncle John stuffed a peanut butter and jelly sandwich in my mouth, I think it was on Thanksgiving. I'm very glad to hear Aunt Barbara is doing well and hope to see both of you at the next reunion. Enjoy your party, it should be a great time having the whole family together.
Love, Tom
Hi aunt Barb and Uncle John, just wanted to say Happy Anniversary. This is a great accomplishment. Love, Edward
Our pleasure to join your families and everyone sending congrat's for FIFTY YEARS well spent-together!
Let's go back to 1955-56 (?) and remember the day we four got the brainy idea to skip school for a brief time. We walked over the small hill in between school and your home Barb. Each of us willingly participated-we stuck together! Hugs and love always! Frank and Marilyn
Congratulations Aunt Barb and Uncle John on your wonderful milestone. May the future years be as happy as the last 50 years have been. Have a great time at the party and hope to see you at the next family gathering. Keep on smiling.
Sue
Congratulations on 50 years of marriage, Aunt Barb and Uncle John!! I'll never forget how you, Uncle John, allowed me to drive the boat for everyone in Disney World. I have to admit I was a little nervous driving a former Coast Guardsman around the lake!
You both were greatly missed at the reunion this past summer. Hope to see you at the next one. Have a great time at the party and I wish you many more happy years together!
Love,
Sarah
John and Barb: It's hard to believe that we've been neighbors for nearly half as long as your marriage. You were always there whenever we needed anything: like watching our house and getting our mail when we were away; repairing our stove when it was hit by lightening; or driving to the theater on a cold night to help replace a car battery; and countless other things. We never needed the "Ghostbusters" number as long as we had your phone number handy! :) Obviously, we could not have had better neighbors or friends.
Congratulations on this very special occasion; Happy 50th Anniversary and here's hoping you have many, many more to celebrate!
With Warm Regards and Best Wishes Always,
Dave and Diann
Happy Anniversary.
We wanted to let you know how great it was going to Michigan for vacations and knowing that you would be there with open arms.
Dad wanted to let you know we really appreciated the way you both helped out through the years, especially when Jean & Jamie moved to Florida.
God Bless Reese
Congratulations Mom and Dad on an accomplishment not many reach. As you can see I am writing this anonymously so that John, Jay, and Dorie don't realize I was your favorite :-)
Have many, many good memories, and very, very few not so good memories, those not so good ones may have had something to do w/ me not following a rule or two (whose counting), won't go into that as my kids will be reading and entering something later, don't want to get busted on a blog like you were by Mr. Crowley, Frank and Marilyn - what did you guys always say "we always find out". I could go on and on for a long time about alot of things, but just want to say thank you for everything you have done and continue to do in our lives, and that there is always two sides to a story, fairness, and most of all a wicked, weird, and warped sense of humor. Once again congratulations and thank you from your favorite - Suzette
Hapyy Anniversary mom and dad.
Well mom if you're reading this I guess it means I won't be blamed for another heart attack:)
What a shame that Sue still believes she is the favorite after all these years. Everyone knows the "baby" is always the favorite.
Thank you for many many fond memories. Now that I have children of my own I realize the sacrafices you made for us through the years. One never truly appreciates their parents until they have children of their own. Thank you mom and dad for all you've done throughout the years, not only for me but Mike and the girls as well. And, of course taking care of Lilly and Dixie for a year.
I'm sure my brothers and sister wouldn't be so rude as to read my blog so me being the favorite will be our secret.
LOVE YOU BOTH, Dorie
Mom & Dad, it has come. a mear 50 years of marriage. Congradulations on that accomplishment. You have some silly girls, eveyone knows that the first son may not be the favorite but all is left to him. Now I have no expectaions of getting it for another 20 or 30 years so take your time and maybe we will all be together again to celebrate your 70th. A class act like the two of you may never again be repeated. Thank you both and have a happy anniversary.
Love John
Dear Barbara and John,
Congratulations on your 50th Anniversary!!!
We were a part of your lives during the time that John was stationed in Alaska, I believe. I remember how lonely you were Barbara--but also how busy you were with the children, the dog, and your job at the Sturgeon Bay Yacht Club.
Remember working at the Yacht Club at our distinguished job of doing dishes, mopping floors, wiping off "pussy cat tracks", cleaning Bill's messy grill and stove hoods, carrying out the garbage and laughing so hard some times that we could not stop? Remember the time that our boss Joe Schlise, came into the kitchen and we were trying to find something else that we could do and he said, "Nothing to do?" We sort of had run out of work I guess. Then he took his hand and wiped it across the top of the door and when his hand was spot-less he just said, "Well, I'll be dammed!" and left the kitchen? I really think he got his money's worth out of both of us. It was hard work but also a lot of fun working with fun people--Ella, Dora, Bill, Lucy and others.
I also remember the time Bill yelled "RACK" because he needed one. You thought he said "RAT" and you leaped up onto the counter. It was an amazing leap!!!
I also recall your dog woth loved to frequent the "Red Room". He over-indulged one time and laid in front of your fire-place for days and you were so worried about him. You talked about lifting up his eyelids to see if he was still alive and I guess after about three days, he recovered.
Barbara, I met you at a time in my life that was very stressful and your friendship and humor helped me deal with all of my problems. I will always be grateful to you for that. Also, I know how lonely you were and how excited you were when John would soon be home.
Our wish for you both is that you will be "forever together" and that God will Bless you both and your wonderful family!!!

Congratulations and Best Wishes on this your 50th Anniversary. We really enjoyed meeting you at Eric and Cassie's wedding. Hope that you have a wonderful day with all your friends and family. Billy and Cathy Irvin
Congratulations!!! What a remarkable accomplishment, 50 years. I could not have choosen a better family to be a part of. You have also been wonderful grandparents. You always took an interest in everything the kids were doing even if we were hundreds of miles away. John and Cassie have many happy, fond memmories spending time with you. The long tournaments of uno with Cassie, and playing uno with John K. while huddle in the bathroom because of a hurricane and tornado. Being stranded with Cassie on the road side on her first trip to Flordia with you. It is not the things you did with them but the quality of time you spent with them. Thank you for everything you have done for us. Thanks for your love, kindness and especially your laughter.
Love, Tina
